NATIONAL SPORT RESEARCH AGENDA

The National Sport Research Agenda (NSRA) brings the Australian sport sector together to identify and provide guidance on priority areas of research for sporting organisations, academics, researchers, research funding bodies, and governments across Australia.

The NSRA works to make our sport sector’s agreed research priorities visible to more industry stakeholders across Australia and aims to attract interest and investment in research partnerships and opportunities.

The NSRA will help improve coordination and alignment of our existing national research effort, so it is better targeted toward our sector’s policy challenges and knowledge gaps.

cross-industry advisory group has been established with members from across the sport research community, to better connect the partner network and embed an ongoing process for enhancing sport sector consensus on research priorities into the future.

Together, we can work to grow and share our knowledge and evidence-base, to promote the value and benefits of sport to all Australians.

2023/24 RESEARCH PRIORITIES

In 2022, a series of industry stakeholder workshops were facilitated to define the NSRA’s scope and gain consensus on the sport sector’s research priorities.

Workshop attendees included representatives from Australian governments, peak sporting bodies, and academic and research institutions.

Through co-design, five broad NSRA themes were identified along with a draft set of research priorities.
