AIS Swimming Hall of Fame

Criteria for inclusion

Hall of Fame was established in December 1981.

Criteria

Achievements which are done after initial enrolment and whilst attending the Institute or in the summer season immediately following the Institute season will be recognised.

To qualify for the Hall of Fame a swimmer must earn 6 points.

  • 6 Points awarded for: World Record, Olympic Games Gold, World Championship Gold
  • 4 Points awarded for: 1st Place World Ranking
  • 3 Points awarded for: Commonwealth Games Gold, Olympic Games Silver, World Championship Silver, 2nd Place World Ranking
  • 2 Points awarded for: Commonwealth Games Silver, Olympic Games Bronze, World Championship Bronze, 3rd Place World Ranking
  • 1 Point awarded for: Commonwealth Games Bronze, Best by Australian Long Course Record

Relays not considered. Points for individual events only. 


Inductees

First two inductees in 1982 were:

  • Lisa Curry - 3 Gold Medals at Commonwealth Games , 1 Bronze Medal at Commonwealth Games
  • Georgina Parkes - Silver Medal at World Championships, 2 Silver Medals at Commonwealth Games
