Summary

  • Ray Junna started as scholarship coach in January and Mike Milovanovic was appointed Assistant Coach. Ron announced his resignation in December 1995.
  • Australia reached the quarter finals of the 1995 World Youth Cup in Qatar. The team included captain Mark Viduka, and 10 other former or current AIS scholarship holders.
  • Hayden Foxe won the National Youth Player of the Year award while Josip Simunic was runner up.
  • The AIS were minor premiers in the National Youth League. However they lost the Grand Final 1-0 to Sydney United.
  • The AIS squad travelled to South America playing matches in Argentina and Brazil.
  • Ilija Prenzoski was selected in the Joeys U17 World Championship team. James Crocker accompanied as the trainer/masseur.
