- Australian Young Women’s Team at World Championships – Croatia: Monique Bowley, Jessica Foley, Hollie Grima, Shelley Hammonds, Brianna Hennessey, Emma Randall, Gabrielle Richards, Samantha Richards, Laura Summerton (Hodges), Carly Wilson, Kelly Wilson. 5th place.
- Australian Junior Men’s Team at World Championships – Greece: Aaron Bruce, Andrew Bogut, Rhys Carter, Sam Harris, Blagoj Janev, Matthew Knight, Aleks Maric, Damian Martin, Steve Markovic, Brad Newley, Mitch Selwood. Head Coach - Rob Beveridge, Assistant Coach - Martin Clarke. Won Gold Medal.
- Australian Senior Men’s Team at Oceania Championship Series: David Andersen, Stephen Black, Shane Heal, Matthew Neilsen, Tony Ronaldson, Glen Saville
- Australian Senior Women’s Team at Oceania Championship Series: Suzy Batkovic, Trisha Fallon, Hollie Grima, Natalie Porter, Alicia Poto, Belinda Snell, Laura Summerton (Hodges), Allison Cook (Tranquilli), Kristen Veal
- Australian Men's Team at Universiade - Japan: Luke Schenscher, John Philip, Ryan Thompson, Brendan Clowry. 7th place.
AIS results and awards
- Women's team finished 8th in the 2002-2003 WNBL season with a 4-17 win/loss record. Kelly Wilson was named Rookie of The Year.
- Women's team toured Japan playing Japanese B Team (2-2) and Japanese Youth Team (3-0)
- Men's team in the Eastern Conference of the Southern Basketball League finished equal 1st with 20-6 win/loss record. Lost the preliminary final. Andrew Bogut was awarded Eastern Conference MVP , National Youth Player of the Year and All Star Five. Steve Markovic was named in All Star Five and Marty Clarke named Coach of the Year.
- Damian Martin won the R E Staunton Medal at the National U20 Championships.
- Bob Staunton Memorial Scholarship: Men - Gregory Vanderjagt; Women - Erin Seward
- Women's Head Coach Phil Brown awarded WNBL Life Membership
