1981-2013
The Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) Basketball program was one of the eight founding sports at the AIS in Canberra. The AIS program developed a strong tradition of striving for excellence in basketball and in life and has produced many star players including Andrew Bogut, Lauren Jackson, Patrick Mills and Penny Taylor.
This alumni site only covers 1981-2013 as all AIS athlete scholarships were discontinued at the end of 2013. Responsibility for coaches and programs based at the AIS training facility transferred to Basketball Australia as the respective National Sporting Organisation. The Basketball Australia established its Centre of Excellence at the AIS in 2014.
