AIS results and awards
- Women's team in the 1989 WNBL season finished 12th with a 3-20 win/loss record. Renae Fegent named Youth Player of Year.
- Men's team in the South East Australian Basketball League finished 2nd with a 15-7 win/loss record. Tony Ronaldson named in the Eastern Conference All Star Five.
- Eleven of the Men's team toured the United States with the National Junior Team in November.
- Women's team toured the West Coast of the United States with a 9-2 win/loss record.
