Australian representatives (former and current athletes)

  • Australian Women’s Team (Olympic Games - Seoul, Korea): Sandra Brondello, Donna Brown (Quinn), Shelley Sandie (Gorman), Debbie Slimmon. 4th place.
  • Australian Men’s Team (Olympic Games - Seoul, Korea): Mark Bradtke, Luc Longley, Andrew Vlahov. Head Coach - Dr Adrian Hurley. 4th place.
  • Australian Junior Women’s Team: Natasha Bargeus, Shelley Gorman (Sandie), Lucille Hamilton, Julie Morton, Joanne Moyle (Metcalfe), Anne Robilliard (Furlong)

AIS results and awards

  • Men's team in the South East Australian Basketball League finished 10th with 6-16 win/loss record.
  • Women's team in the 1988 WNBL season finished 11th with a 3-19 win/loss record. Lucille Hamilton was Rookie of the Year.
  • Men's team toured Singapore and Malaysia in November with a 6-2 win/loss record.
  • Women's team did not tour.
