Australian representatives (former and current athletes)

  • Australian Junior Men’s Team (World Championships - Italy): Tony Boniello, Mark Bradtke, Martin Clarke, Shane Froling, Warrick Giddey, Shane Heal, Peter Hill, Luc Longley, John Stelzer, Andrew Vlahov, Paul Zadow. Head Coach - Patrick Hunt. 5th place.
  • Australian Senior Women’s Team: Sandra Brondello, Donna Brown (Quinn), Shelley Sandie (Gorman), Fiona Robinson
  • Australian Women's Team (Universiade - Yugoslavia): Sandra Brondello, Shelley Gorman, Fiona Robinson. Head Coach - Phil Brown. 12th place.
  • Australian Senior Men’s Team: Mark Bradtke, Simon Cottrell, David Graham, John Stelzer, Andrew Vlahov
  • Australian Junior Men’s Team: Simon Cottrell, Mark Dalton, Brett Flanigan, Karl Luke, Tim Morrissey, Peter Wain, Bill Ward

AIS results and awards

  • Women's team in the 1987 WNBL season finished 5th with a 10-10 win/loss record. Sandra Brondello led the free throw percentage.
  • Women's team was fifth in the Australian Club Championships.
  • Women's team in the Women's Conference finished equal 3rd but missed out on the finals on percentages.
  • Men's team in the South East Australian Basketball League finished 9th with a 7-13 win/loss record. It was hampered due to representative commitments and injuries.
  • Men's team toured the United States.
  • Women's team toured the United States in November with a 9-2 win/loss against top college teams including national champions University of Tennessee.
