AIS results and awards
- Women's team in the 1987 WNBL season finished 5th with a 10-10 win/loss record. Sandra Brondello led the free throw percentage.
- Women's team was fifth in the Australian Club Championships.
- Women's team in the Women's Conference finished equal 3rd but missed out on the finals on percentages.
- Men's team in the South East Australian Basketball League finished 9th with a 7-13 win/loss record. It was hampered due to representative commitments and injuries.
- Men's team toured the United States.
- Women's team toured the United States in November with a 9-2 win/loss against top college teams including national champions University of Tennessee.
