The 'SHESAILS' project: High-Performance pathways and support for gold for female sailors

Women’s and mixed classes are increasing in Olympic sailing, however Australia’s depth and performance is declining in these classes. There is a lack of gender balance in the sailing high performance pathway and women are under-represented in the proportion of medals won. This PhD will address the theme of helping female athletes to win more medals. It will comprise a series of studies exploring female-specific opportunities in athlete development, retention and performance optimisation.
