Understanding coaching behaviours and the role of remote coaching technologies in Para Sport
This program of work will begin to address the limited empirical research in Para Sport, looking at coaching behaviours across a range of Para coaching contexts (i.e., sport, training location and/or variation in athlete impairment). Furthermore, given some of the major barriers experienced in Para Sports (i.e., geography, impairment, low levels of funding and resources) and the additional challenges posed by the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic (i.e., training, travel and competition restrictions), there is a need to explore and understand the impact that remote ‘live’ technology may have on coaching process and coach-athlete interactions.
