Summary
- The AIS team performed at a high standard to be the first AIS Netball Team to win their respective domestic competition taking out the Farmers Union League in South Australia. Natalie von Bertouch was awarded the Farmers Union League Best and Fairest Player Award and was also selected as Centre in their Team of the Year.
- The AIS team won all of its games against the different provinces on a tour of South Africa. The team also had the opportunity to compete against the England Open Squad and the England Development Squad here in Australia.
- The Australian 21 and Under series against New Zealand was conducted in June in Melbourne, Canberra and Sydney. Several AIS athletes were selected in the Australian 21/U Team that defeated New Zealand in the series 3 games to 1.
- Jane Altschwager was selected into the Australian Open Team for the England and New Zealand Tours. Natalie von Bertouch was selected in the Australian Open Squad and six players were selected as invitees to the Australian Open Squad.
- Jane Altschwager and Kimberlee Gilmour were part of Sydney Swifts who won the Commonwealth Bank Trophy in the National Netball League.
- Jane Altschwager won the Gwen Benzie's Award and Sarah Barrett won the Anne Clark Award. Natalie von Bertouch won the team Best and Fairest Award and Andrea Booth won the Goal Shooting Award.
