Summary

  • Esso Super League - defeated East Doncaster 61-35 in final.
  • Papua New Guinea Tour - November - won all games (four).
  • West Indies Tour by AIS Open team - November - team undefeated.
  • Competed in NSW State League.
  • Australia played in the Milo tri-nation test series against New Zealand and Jamaica, in New Zealand. Of the six tests played Australia won 4, lost 1 and drew 1. The same nations played a further six tests in Australia for the Prudential Cup in which Australia won 3, lost 2 and drew 1. Australia completed the year with an undefeated tour of England, including two test victories. Five AIS scholarship holders represented Australia.
