Summary

  • All-Australia Night Competition - March - AIS team undefeated.
  • NSW State League competition - AIS undefeated
  • Esso Super League - AIS defeated East Doncaster 61-35 in final.
  • Northern Ireland and England tour by AIS Open team - win over English national team at Wembley.
  • At the Australia Games in Melbourne, Australia finished second in the international netball tournament involving Australia, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago and England. Five AIS scholarship holders played in this team.
  • At the 1st World Games held at Crystal Palace in London, Australia finished second to New Zealand. Five team members were current or former AIS scholarship holders.
